Razer mouse, keyboard and headset battery on Windows

Your Razer mouse, keyboard or headset battery in the Windows taskbar, without Synapse: 48 models on HyperSpeed dongle or cable, with low battery alerts.

48 models listed: 35 mice, 6 keyboards, 7 headsets

How the level is read

Razer mice and keyboards answer a short status request with a level from 0 to 255, which BatteryOnPC converts into a percentage. It is the request OpenRazer uses on Linux, sent through the dongle or the cable. The app also recognises the model, so each device appears under its own name.

Mice with HyperPolling (4K and 8K dongles) answer later than the others: BatteryOnPC waits a little longer for them, so their level is not missed.

Headsets: three families

  • Nari: the headset reports a voltage, so the percentage is an estimate between the voltage of an empty battery and that of a full one. It moves less smoothly than a real reading.
  • BlackShark V2 Pro (2023) and Barracuda Pro: read with the protocol of Razer's recent headsets.
  • BlackShark V2 HyperSpeed, Barracuda X Chroma, Kraken V4 Pro and Kraken Kitty V3 Pro: the level arrives in an audio status report. BatteryOnPC only reads it, at most once a minute, so the headset is never disturbed.

Razer devices that are not supported

Some models cannot be read safely today. BatteryOnPC leaves them alone rather than risk a problem:

  • BlackShark V3, V3 Pro and V3 X: asking them for their battery makes the headset drop its connection.
  • Kraken V3 Pro: its battery goes through a serial port that the app does not use.
  • Kraken V4 (non-Pro): no reliable source documents how it reports its level.
  • Wolverine V3 Pro controller: its firmware does not expose the battery through any documented channel.
  • Bluetooth-only headsets such as the Kraken BT: not supported so far.

Questions about Razer devices

Does BatteryOnPC replace Razer Synapse?
Only for the battery. Synapse also handles lighting, macros, sensitivity and firmware updates. BatteryOnPC reads the level without it, so if the battery was all you kept Synapse for, you can stop it from starting with Windows.
Why is my Razer Nari's level an estimate?
The Nari reports a voltage, not a percentage. The level is estimated between the voltages of an empty and a full battery, so treat it as a good indication rather than an exact figure.
Is the BlackShark V3 Pro supported?
No. Asking the BlackShark V3 family for its battery makes the headset drop its connection, so BatteryOnPC does not query it.
My Razer model is not in the list. Will it work?
The list only names models confirmed by a public source or by a real reading. Write to us with the exact model and we will answer before you buy.
