MSI devices that are not supported
- Versa 500 Wireless 8K: MSI Center itself does not handle it yet.
- Clutch GM60 and GM70: no reliable source documents how they report their battery.
- Force Pro Wireless controller: MSI Center reads it through a Windows channel shared with Xbox controllers, which BatteryOnPC leaves alone.
Add an MSI device
- 1
Connect it
Plug in the receiver or the cable, and check that the device works.
- 2
Scan for devices
In the BatteryOnPC window, open the Devices tab and click Scan for devices.
- 3
Add it
Click Add. The device gets its own icon in the taskbar and its own alert threshold.
How the level is read
MSI does not use one protocol for all its devices: the Versa Pro and Strike Pro, the Clutch mice, the Versa 8K mice, the Strike 700 keyboard, the Immerse GH50 headset and the Force GC300 controller each have their own. BatteryOnPC sends each one exactly the read request MSI Center sends it, and nothing else: no setting, no lighting, no firmware command.
Most of them report a real percentage and whether they are charging. On the cable, the Clutch GM31 and GM51 and the Versa 300 Elite report their level too, and count as charging.
The Clutch GM41 and its STALKER 2 edition do not wait to be asked: they send a measurement on their own. BatteryOnPC listens for it and turns it into a percentage with the same calculation as MSI Center.
Questions about MSI devices
- Do I still need MSI Center?
- Not for the battery. Keep it for your settings if you use them; BatteryOnPC reads the level on its own.
- Is the Versa 500 Wireless 8K supported?
- Not yet: MSI Center itself does not handle it. It will join the list once a reliable way to read it exists.
- My MSI model is not in the list. Will it work?
- The list names the models confirmed so far. Write to us with the exact model and how it connects, and we will answer before you buy.
